Mabye...Oh Maybe...

Hey ya'll, long time no post. I told you February was going to be a hectic month. And hectic it WAS. My weeks consisted of work, work, work (secular...you know, the boring stuff) and my weekends were just events back to back. No drawing time what so ever. Now with my last weekend, I decided to just completely devote it to the arts and all that productive energy that I was storing came out pretty good.

I started writing Memento again. An old idea that I did comic pages for about two years ago. The story is still the same, but tweaked so that it's so much better (and much less bitter lol). Because it changed so much, the old cast had to be let go and replaced with new characters. And while that saddened me a little, I got over it quickly. So Maggy won't star in this version of Memento. Instead, we have:Anise! Actually during most of the story she goes as Annie. I didn't think I could make a character as fun as Maggy. Well, Annie, so far you've impressed me. These were my warm up sketches, I had her design in mind but I just wanted to make sure I got her looks and attitude right. And it wasn't until my second round of sketches where I started to capture who exactly Annie was. She's still taking shape, I'm leaning towards making her a bit plumpy even though her overalls definitely are still too large for her fitting. I want to color these as well so I can use them for reference later.

Aside from Annie, there are a TON of side characters in this. But I'm taking this one step at a time and probably will introduce them as I get around to writing about them. So far, I've only written Annie, her grandpa, the Prince (who replaced Michael) and the lady who replaced Emica. Hmm...I need to brainstorm on how these two new ones will fit as well...

More sketches later. I'm doing a bit of researching since the setting is much different from the previous version. This will be something very fun to do while piddling around with Get a Clue. Speaking of which, I do have new pages that need inking but I'm currently high on this project so I will be switching between the two as I see fit. So don't wait on GaC. :)

WIP: Family Portrait

Version 1 of the family portrait. I liked it well enough but something was off to me. I'm trying to learn composition. Group drawings are a pain for me anyway, but I'm determined to learn. Everybody is okay here, but dad and Solo aren't centered enough and their poses are awkward.
Ah, better. Though I'm still not entirely happy with how Solo came out. If I keep redrawing this, it'll never get finished. It's an improvement from the last sketch so now it's time to color.

I'm way behind on Get a Clue stuff. I was supposed to have comic pages done since last week. But as always, life is unpredictable...and I haven't been getting much sleep so it makes it harder to work. But I'm trying!

The next act has been rewritten and thumbnailed so I'm hoping to getting those pages done in a few days and fully finished by next weekend...oh I forgot. This month is just...horrible for productivity. Well I'll see what I can do.
