Get a Clue: Free Sketch

Train doodles. I'm starting to do more of these. I wanted to do practice more interactions with the characters (especially those two fighting siblings there hoohoo) as well as practice on Eddy's singing expressions. Since...well...he sings ALL the time. The crazy looking guy at the way top is actually based on someone I know in real life. Maybe he'll be a crazy neighbor?
I love this train doodle the most. I had an epiphany about making my characters look different by just randomly doing different head shapes and structures. The results? I finally was able to get Eddy's parents down, and his brother and probably some new characters (on the bottom) that I don't even have a role for yet.
Practicing Solo's expressions. See Eddy, I don't give you ALL the attention. I decided I wanted Solo to go into theater since it's more dramatic acting than regular drama. Plus, like Eddy, she has a natrual singing voice. But she's going to have to over come that timidness.

I don't know when I'm going to actually JUMP into doing regular story pages. But I will do mini strip pages like I did when I first introduced Eddy and Solo. I still need to get to know everybody. I'm devoting this weekend to a lot of art, so hopefully more soonish~

Get a Clue: Line up

This is definitely going against my last post on my other journal. There I said that Get a Clue wasn't going to be a priority. Well, I still don't want to label it as a priority, however it's the only project right now that makes me the happiest to work on right now. So just to amuse myself, I made a line up of part of the cast. The whole Robinson family including Eddy and Solo's best friends, Holly and Max(imillion). Working on this gave me excitement to the prospect of actually working on it fully. The story has barely gotten started. =D

Notes:
I like working with strictly pencils but clean up can be a pain unless I leave the roughness there.
I shouldn't be afraid to shade darker, it'll save me on making color shadows. I need to practice shading techniques.
While I like shading this way and keeping things in pencil, clean pen works will make filling in colors so much quicker. Plus, I'd like to have colored outlines. Weighing the pros and cons, I think I'm going to stick with the pencil works...unless I find someone who will ink for me lol.

Work on shoes and poses. Reference pregnancy.

Overall, everybody was a ton of fun to draw. Can't wait to start on actual pages, but I want to make more illustrations first. Also I need to write songs for Eddy...oh man, I suck at writing songs...
